Strathcraig
_____The Cottage_____________
Despite its modern facilities Strathcraig remains an original crofter's cottage, and its traditional welcoming character will be apparent as soon as you enter the door of the storm porch. The house is well furnished and equipped, and you will find everything thoroughly clean and properly prepared for your arrival.
On the ground floor there is a cosy sitting room, a lovely dining room with a wood-lined fitted kitchen off, and a modern bathroom with shower. Bedrooms are upstairs and comprise one double, one twin and a small single. There is central heating by electric storage, as well as electric fires in the public rooms. Television, video, DVD and a variety of books and games are available for evenings in. The kitchen has an electric hob, combination microwave oven, refrigerator and automatic washing machine. A freezer is available for residents' use and the payphone in the hall accepts incoming calls. The cottage is double glazed and well insulated, ensuring warmth and comfort at all times of year. And there's ample room in the porch for walking boots, coats, etc.
You can sit in the enclosed garden (furniture provided) from which there are views across the Minch towards the Outer Hebrides. Explore over the croft down to the rocky shore. Watch the fishing boats coming and going from the busy harbour of Lochinver, and visit the high quality local restaurants to sample some of the freshest seafood you've ever tasted, as well as local game, lamb and beef!
